Last Tuesday, my husband and I were so excited to see our dear friends, Gwen and Dick Bowlby, receive the 2016 Crystal Microphone Award at the Kresge Society Spring Soiree at the Rooster Tail on the Detroit River.

The Bowlbys were one of three recipients of this award for their ongoing philanthropic work in the city with organizations like the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Michigan Opera Theatre, Kresge Society, the Detroit Chamber Winds, and so many more.

They are the perfect model for my motto:

The Life You Lead is the Legacy You Leave!

Congratulations to Gwen and Dick for making a difference today and for generations to come!

Last week’s radio show:
I was thrilled to finally interview Lewis Schiff, author of Business Brilliant: Surprising Lessons from the Greatest Self-Made Business Icons, last week about “How Wealth is Created Today: Three habits that will change your life forever!”

Here are a few takeaways:

  • The self-made wealthy create ideal connections so that “luck” can occur!
  • Instead of “Do what you love and the money will follow,” research says to “Do what you love but follow the money.”
  • Go to the people around you who’ve been successful and ask them how they learned from their adversity.

If you want to learn more, listen to the show archives which are available now.  Plus, “like” our Radio Page, and you can pick up a free copy of Lewis’s newest book, The First Habit.

I want to introduce one of our new bloggers, Jill Mattson, who has written a extensive article on the healing properties of flowers and sound in our Featured Article section below.
